Chicago LAKEFRONT fishing

Variable: Northeast winds and dirty water have been the limiting factor (more is forecast today). Otherwise, shoreline perch took off midweek around Chicago. Even shoreline action was good around Cal harbor with some jumbos at night, those doing best used slip floats to lift the minnows slightly off the bottom to avoid the gobies. Shoreline action for smaller perch has been good at Montrose, Park Bait said. The bite has been surprisingly tough at Navy Pier, DuSable and Burnham. Normally Navy Pier perch take off before Thanksgiving. When weather allows, boaters are doing well in Cal harbor, dragging minnows on the bottom. Park Bait reported scattered browns at Montrose.
