Walleye Fishing Tips

In turbid waters go for brightly colored florescent jigs. One of my favorite walleye lures is a 1/2 ounce chartreuse jig (that’s bright lime green for you non-fisherfolks) tipped with a big minnow. Use a topographic map to find the shallow points and humps in the lake and you’ll find the fish. Big underwater rock piles and old creek channels are other good places to cast. It also helps to keep moving. If you haven’t gotten a bite in 10 minutes or so, the fish in that location aren’t very hungry. It’s better to move to a new spot than to sit around and wait for the fish to find your bait. Fishing forum
