The Elk River was slow for trout but the smallmouth bite was good when using artificial lures. Lake trout were caught in the West Bay when trolling in the shallows. Lake herring were taken in various depths south of Lee Point and from Marion Island south. The Boardman River was slow but anglers did find a few bass and some suckers.
