Chetek Chain of Lakes

Walleye anglers are having early-morning and early-evening success along the shorelines of the Chetek Chain of Lakes. Anglers seem to be catching them a few different ways at this time. Some are catching them while trolling small crankbaits, such as shad raps, Rapalas and Berkley flicker shads along steep, banked shorelines and drop-off areas. Anglers are also picking them as they drift the shorelines and points with these same baits and small spinners, such as the Mepp’s spinnerbait. Live bait anglers are also getting nice walleyes as they slip bobber fish drop-off areas and points with nightcrawlers, fathead minnows or leeches for bait on their hooks.
